About us

Our mission

HKU ・ New ・ Cardiovascular Disease Risk Factor Survey is a new territory-wide study. Over the past 20 years, Hong Kong people’s lifestyle, health awareness and overall medical quality have changed significantly. However, cardiovascular disease is still the leading urban killer after cancer, accounting for 20.2% of the total mortality in both 2015 and 2016. Therefore, N-CRISPS will collect up-to-date epidemiological data on various cardiovascular disease risk factors, including diabetes, for Hong Kong’s working-age population. N-CRISPS is funded by the Hong Kong Government’s Healthcare Research Fund and will be a four-and-a-half-year study.
